Logo printing on eco-friendly gifts: what to approve
A logo that looks clear on a large screen may become unreadable on a pen barrel. Treat the product surface as part of the design and confirm the available branding process for the exact item.

Send usable artwork
A vector version of the logo is helpful because it can be scaled without losing sharpness. Include brand colours, clear-space rules and any approved single-colour version. If you only have an image file, send the best original you have; avoid screenshots from messaging apps. Ask whether artwork preparation is included in the quotation.
Match the design to the surface
A narrow pen barrel, textured cork cover and flat paper sleeve offer different printable areas. Fine lettering can disappear at small sizes, while busy artwork may compete with visible grain. Ask for the actual maximum artwork dimensions and the branding methods supported by that particular product. Do not assume every item can use the same process.
Understand what the proof confirms
A digital mockup shows intended placement and scale. It does not necessarily show the exact colour, texture or finish of a manufactured item. If those are critical, discuss the availability and cost of a physical sample. Natural material variation and different production processes can affect the result. Confirm which tolerances are acceptable before approving.
Keep one final approval record
The approval should identify the item, quantity, artwork version, position, dimensions and colour instructions. Include packaging artwork separately when relevant. Nominate one person to approve changes and ask for the production schedule after approval. Late artwork changes can affect both cost and timing, so settle the specification before the deadline becomes tight.
