Planning

When should you order customised corporate gifts?

There is no reliable universal lead time for a customised gift. The schedule depends on the products, quantities, branding process, packaging and destination. Build the timeline from confirmed milestones.

Start with the arrival date

Write down when the gifts must be available for inspection or distribution, not just the day of the occasion. If your team assembles the packs, that needs its own time allowance. List all delivery locations and ask for a realistic transit estimate with a buffer. Separate a dispatch promise from an arrival estimate.

Identify what must happen before production

The supplier may need a confirmed quantity, available stock, usable artwork, an approved proof and agreed payment terms. Ask which of these starts the production clock. A quotation received today does not necessarily reserve materials or a production slot. Keep dependencies visible so an internal approval delay does not quietly consume the delivery buffer.

Treat packaging as a separate task

A custom sleeve, card or box can have its own artwork and production requirements. Check dimensions using the actual contents. Confirm who assembles the final gift and whether individual-address delivery requires different protection. Ask for the schedule of the complete package, not only the main product.

Agree how changes will be handled

Name one approval owner and keep written records of revisions. Before accepting a tight schedule, ask what changes are still possible after sign-off and what would move the delivery date. During festive periods, discuss current availability and capacity directly. For an urgent brief, a simpler in-stock option may be practical, but only a confirmed quotation and schedule establish what can be delivered.
